POOR PAYOR TO THE PHYSICIANS. LOTS OF PROBLEMS WITH PAYMENTS. HARD TO FIND DOCTORS THAT ACCEPT IT HAPPILY..

This is by the far the worst insurance I have ever had. I pay over $600 per month for coverage that covers almost nothing. They turn down every claim and play games with the provider and the member in order to give a final denial. I have had the coverage 7 months and not one bill has been covered, thus far. I would be better off financially without this expensive "non"-coverage, but it is a legal requirement to have health insurance in my state and since my family of 4 makes more than $58,000, we have to pay full premiums. RIDICULOUS!.

I was covered by Cigna through Oct 31st 2008. I had annual service done on Oct 28th 2008 which was called and verified on the day of service. Now they are not paying my claim and they stated that my coverage ended on the 28th. I have official paper work that stated my coverage is through the 31st of 2008. It seems that a clerical error has been made and they will not acknowledge it and they reject my claims. They stated that if I call on the day of the service, this has no bearing since computers take 2 days to update information that is submitted..

Unfortunately my husband just lost his job due to work slowdown. We have had company sponsored Cigna health insurance for the last several years, before the lay offs, and were totally satisfied. They have nurses who call you and discuss your health issues, totally private and not reported to company..just for your benefit. They paid all claims quickly and honorably. We can't afford the COBRA to keep them going and it is a REAL disappointment and scarey as well, but if we could keep it we would!.

I had a claim against a person insured with CIGNA from an accident in NYC. While my insurance said I should collect 100%, CIGNA only offered 95%.

After hearing how Cigna has delaid paying for cancer claims, hoping the patient will die before they have to fork over benefits, I cannot in any good consciousness give Cigna a good rating. They have done this repeatedly to patients, hoping to not have to pay out monies they are legally required to pay under their contracts. The reason they do this is to keep profits high. They'll take your money, but when you need it, they fight to deny you automatically, despite doctors diagnosis. They ask for the same forms over and over, delay answering claims in the hopes that people will just give up on it, or possibly die of their cancer, thereby negating any claim against them. Personally, I feel they should be charged with wrongful death lawsuits for failing to honor their contract. The government backs these tactics, and has written laws to protect the insurance companies from these claims, so that their stockholder/politicians can make even more of a profit. Realise, many politicians have stock in insurance companies, power companies, oil companies, and the like. Is there any question as to why prices are so out rageous for most things these days? We're being robbed, not just by the corporations, but the politicians who hold stock in said corporations..

Site is the biggest piece of sh_t I have ever tried to use. HCSA calims not posted for over 3 weeks and when they finaly did post did not include Eye doctor claim. Had to go through works rep to get anything done..

Can't understand why they pay for Doctor but not lab while both are located in the same medical center. Are they expecting us to micromanage?.

It is extremely difficult to find a decent provider within their network such as physical therapists. Claims and bills are not recieved in a timely manner. Most of the time you will recieve a claim 9 months to a year after the date of service. There is a constant problem with services being billed incorrectly and In-Network providers being charged as out of network. Be prepared to spend alot of time on the phone disputing claims. It's a total headache and I can't wait until open enrollment to discontinue my health insurance with Cigna..
